About IIT

When we talk about technical education in India, there would hardly be anyone who would not have heard about the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). One of the most prestigious institutes in India, IIT is the best and latest place to get education and do research. Every student who has passed intermediate dreams of qualifying for JEE (Main) for IIT.

The reputation is established by the fact that top leaders in the tech sector, like Infosys, Google, Paytm, RBI, Flipkart, and politics, are from IITs. What makes them so special is the fact that the education is directly in line with the latest standards and is updated on a regular basis, making learning even more suitable for students in the competitive world.

Providing technical education is an expensive affair, and most governments have regular funds to meet changing infrastructure needs. This gives a great opportunity to the candidates studying at IITs to stay ahead of others in terms of knowledge and achieve success in life.

Moreover, these institutions are also the centers of high-quality research, which also makes sure that the changes are regularly incorporated into the mainstream, making learning even more effective and fruitful.

IITs are spread across the country, and each institution strives to be tagged as the best. Moreover, they also undertake the imparting of almost all the disciplines in the field of technical education, making them the temples of education. IITs operate under the Ministry of Human Resource and Development and are autonomous bodies that can impart degrees on their own that are recognized worldwide.

In recent years, the central government has given extensive attention to the development of IITs in every state of the country. Admission to IITs is achieved through the Joint Entrance Exam, or JEE, which is conducted each year, and the students have to clear the examination in two phases: JEE (main) and JEE (advanced), making them eligible for admission to the IITs.

Once the students achieve an All India Rank (AIR) in the JEE examination, they can then sit for counseling sessions, which award them a choice as per rank and also the institution’s location. JEE also makes sure that you have a state rank, which makes you eligible for state universities as well.

The various IITs function autonomously, and their special status as “Institutes of National Importance” facilitates the smooth running of IITs, virtually free from both regional as well as student politics. Such autonomy means that IITs can create their own curriculum and adapt rapidly to changes in educational requirements, free from bureaucratic hurdles.

The government has no direct control over the internal policy decisions of IITs but has representation on the IIT Council. Course fees for B.Tech. in IITs are about INR 8-12 Lakhs. The medium of instruction in all IITs is English.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is the dream education location for any student, and the student who dreams of engineering always works hard to achieve it. But what makes them so special? Well, the reason lies simply in the fact that they are one of the best places to study in India.

Under the direct leadership of the Government of India and the Ministry of HRD, there are 23 IITs, namely Delhi, Kanpur, Bhilai, Jammu, Mandi, Jodhpur, Bombay, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Goa, Ropar, Roorkee, etc. These institutions are the harbingers of the highest quality technical education in our country and have delivered some of the finest and most appropriate education centers, which have provided India with quality engineers and professionals who for long have taken the flag of the country ahead in all directions worldwide.
